Aggreg8.com
Aggreg8 is a new social networking site aimed at IT pros. You can sign in with your windows live ID or Microsoft passport account. It would be nice if they placed this info on the homepage, but I suppose since it’s aimed at pros, everyone should already know that.
So, you have your profile where you can upload your photo or avatar and add a bio. You can invite friends to join you in your “network” so you can collaborate and network with them. There is also a “working group” feature which is again for networking. You can create your own “working group” and share knowledge with the entire community or keep it private to just you and your group. On the front page, after you log in, there is a “featured members” list and a “featured groups” list. If you select one of the featured members you can view their working groups, send them a message, or invite them to join your network. You can also check out the working groups and write posts, create tags, and mark them as a favorite. All of the working groups have a five star rating system and you can rate them however you see fit.
If you have a myspace account and your an IT pro, you’ll have no problem getting started on aggreg8. It is brought to you by Microsoft in conjunction with their partner Culminis. I know there will probably be some changes and new features rolling out in the near future, so hopefully they will make it a bit more appealing to the eye and not so…yawn.
